Drop 2 chord voicings are handy when you want to reharmonize each note of a melody and when you want to do arrangements for 4 or more instruments and assign a different note to each player.  

The concept of drop 2 is fairly simple, however the application of it is sometimes tricky when you try to apply it to melodies.  This is what I do in this arrangement of Autumn Leaves.  Be sure to check ot the video below to see the full explanation of drop 2 and it’s applications.
