Performed and transcribed by me, Paul Tobey · Jazzmentl. This is the paid companion to the YouTube video: blues licks and phrases applied to real tunes, written out so you don’t have to pause every two bars. I usually give sheet music away for an email address. This pack is different. I transcribed and arranged the A-section language I actually played the melody-register lines, left-hand comping, and chord symbols across five standards. Yes, it’s the A section of each (Summertime runs a little longer).  That’s still a lot of phrasing decisions on the page.

What this is for:

Use it as a practice pack, not an encyclopedia. Learn one A section. Steal the blues targeting. Move the same ideas to the next tune. That’s the point of the video, and this is the paper version.

What this is not:

Not complete chorus-after-chorus transcriptions. Not a full arrangement of every section. Not a substitute for the original tunes. A-sections, written clearly, so you can get the language under your fingers tonight.

How to use it:

1. Watch the full tutorial video below.
2. Watch the concept on the matching standard.
3. Play the excerpt slowly with the changes.
4. Isolate one phrase and move it to the next tune.
5. Then close the PDF and improvise.
