This sheet music piano composition was written while walking a 1,000 km pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago in Spain. At a tempo of 100 bpm, it’s my actual brisk walking pace. You can hear a limp in the left-hand bass riff. I broke my ankle coming down a mountain, rested in Burgos for 3 days, then just kept on walking. The song is called Caminar which in English means “to walk.”
The piece is intermediate-level piano and you can add it to your repertoire to play something completely different than traditional classical pieces and Royal Conservatory music. It does that a solo section with chord changes that you can improvise over.
